AGARTALA, Nov 1 (TIWN): As a mark of respect to the departed leader Anil Sarkar who was also the state planning board vice-chairman, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday released a book written on the departed leader Anil Sarkar by Nitish Ranjan Das at Press club.
The book titled “Tripureshwari boroputro Anil” written by Nitish Ranjan Ras was inaugurated by Chief Minister Manik Sarkar paving a mark of respect and honour to the veteran leader Anil Sarkar.
Addressing an eminent gathering of scholars, historians and representatives at the release function of the book, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar stated that Comrade Anil Sarkar Comrade was an extra-ordinary political personality having many qualities. Struggling from student life, Comrade Anil Sarkar was a model teacher, good political organiser, successful parliamentarian, a fire-brand orator and a renowned poet. His demise created an unimaginable gap in the spheres of culture and literacy. Struggling people of Tripura shall ever remember the life and legacy of Comrade Anil Sarkar.
Veteran CPI (M) leader and Tripura Planning Board vice-chairman Anil Sarkar died after suffering from prolonged illness. Mr. Sarkar, 76, was Minister in successive Left Front governments of the State till 2013 and led party’s Dalit organisation.
A man with diverse abilities as writer, poet and intellectual, Mr. Sarkar breathed his last at AIIMS in New Delhi where he was shifted from a hospital in Kolkata. He was suffering from multiple diseases and was recently put on ventilation.
