Court summons three more TGEA Employees of Belonia on September 2 incident

AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): Court summon three more TGEA Employees of Belonia on September 2 incident yesterday. Three teachers are Adhir Ranjan Biswas, Dipak Sarkar and Partha Roy. Now fear of HC is prevailing across South Tripura CPIM Party leaders / supporters and those CPIM goons are enjoying HC summons case one by one after Durga Puja.

Tripura High Court already took up two suo moto criminal contempt cases against a few CPI-M cadres. A high court division bench of Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta and Justice Shubhasish Talapatra took up the cases against a number of cadres, including Belonia sub divisional committee secretary Tapas Dutta.

In notices issued to these persons, the high court directed them to appear in the court as well as to file affidavits on December 7 on their activities during the nationwide industrial strike on September 2. Belonia, CPM cadres led by Datta had ransacked the south district court and assaulted the employees. They had also abused district judge Ruhidas Paul, threatening him with dire consequences. In accordance with an FIR filed by Paul, two persons were arrested but Dutta, who was named in the FIR, escaped arrest. Dutta had filed for anticipatory bail in high court on September 7.

Recently the Tripura High Court had rejected their bail plea and directed police to take custody of the three accused CPI-M leaders involved in harassing District and Session Judge of Belonia. District and session judge of Belonia Ruhidas Pal himself had lodged an FIR against the accused leaders for abusing the court and attacking him for appearing in the court during strike. The judge made a detailed account of the happenings on the day and sought legal action against them. But police did not arrest them yet. In the meantime, the accused persons moved anticipatory bail petition in the High Court to evade arrest. After a long hearing, Chief Justice Deepak Gupta rejected the bail petition and said, ''There is no question of bail for the accused who dishonored judiciary openly. Police should arrest and interrogate them and find out who else are involved in the case. The CPI-M picketers also attacked Sub divisional judicial magistrate of Sabroom and vandalised the court when he went to attend court proceedings. He entered into the toilet to save himself from the rowdy picketers.

 

Later, Chief Justice of Tripura High Court Deepak Gupta had visited the place and registered a suo moto case of contempt of court. The three leaders had filed a petition for anticipatory bail in the High Court which was rejected.
