AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): Immersion rituals of the Idol of Goddess Durga have to be over by Sunday, according to the notice of Administration.
Major clubs like Bharat Ratna, Shantigami, Ramthakur and many others should immerse their idols by Sunday.
A temper of unhappiness overwhelmed all over the State as Durga Puja celebrations reached its final day that Vijaya Dashami on Friday.
The immersion ritual has begun from the night of Thursday. Festive atmosphere prevailed with youngsters dancing to the drum beats as the idols were taken in procession through the main thoroughfares of the city.
All the major clubs which has not done the ritual of immersion, the Administration has asked to complete it by Sunday so that fromMonday onwards the vehicle could run smoothly and no traffic congestion could be observed. Besides, the State is also preparing for the celebration of Laxmi Puja which will be celebrated on Monday.
Dashamighat wore a festive look during the last three days of immersion rituals of Goddess Durga, as puja organisers came in colourful processions to the accompaniment of drums to immerse idols of the goddess and her four children - Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ganesha and Kartik at the Howrah bank.
People played cymbals as the idols were lowered into the water while children splashed water on the submerging goddess.
However, to ensure peaceful and hassle free immersion ritual, elaborate arrangement has been made by the Police Administration and others at the river bank where idol of Goddess Durga has been immersed.
Besides, special arrangements have been made by the Agartala Municipal Corporation, aiming to reduce the accident ricks at the River bank during the time of immersion and to keep check over the water pollution.
Reportedly, the team deployed by the Agartala Municipal Corporation removes the idol from the rivers after the completion of immersion rituals to reduce the water pollution.
