Weeklong closure of Bank Service paralysed customers: ATM runs dry

AGARTALA, Oct 25 (TIWN): Weeklong closure of Bank Service in the State from October 20 has become a major concern for the customer. Common people as well as corporate personals were equally hit by bank holidays.

The Bank will resume its service from October 27.

The closure of bank service till October 27 has become a major concern for its consumer, mostly for the people who are not use to online service and do not hold any ATM card. Therefore, they have to wait for any kind of transaction till the bank service resume.

Bank holidays took away some of the festive mood among the public after most of the ATMs ran out of cash, leaving users to run from one machine to another.

However, long queues were noticed in front of all major banks and the customers were in the queue even several hours.

Even in some of the customers of the banks were found jostling in the bank premises as the space inside the banks were chock- a- bloc with customers.

Besides, the senior citizens had to spend tough time for collecting the amount and for doing the transaction. As because of the holidays, most customers tried to do their transaction before hand and for that the mess at the banks were noticed.

During the Puja tenure most of the time the ATMs dries up with the people in a festive mood can go on spending more than their normal spending habit.

Several citizens were seen running from one ATM to another in a bid to take out cash for various purposes. However most of them were unable to do so despite travelling around the city.

However, the weeklong closure of Bank Service in the State have hits the pockets of most of the public.
