AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): With the beginning of Durga Puja fervour in the State, streets houses and shops were lighten up with colourful lights.
Durga Puja is a yearly Hindu festival that marks the celebration of Hindu Goddess Durga. Durga Puja is celebrated to symbolize the victory of goddess Durga over Mahishasura. It is the festival to celebrate the happiness of good’s win over evil.
Durga Puja is a common festival in India and is celebrated in almost all the states. However, it is celebrated widely in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharakhand, Manipur, Odisha, Tripura and West Bengal.
Decorative light gates were set up temporarily in before every major Puja pandals. Besides, many clubs has displayed the creativity of light with the use of inovative ideas.
Important road crossings were illuminated with decorative chain colourful lights. Besides, buildings were also lighted with decorative lights and the shops were decorated with colourful decoration item.
However, huge crowd has been observed from the day of Chaturthi this year. The Traffic Department where decided to install no-entry boards from October 20, witnessing the huge crowd they have set no-entry before the major areas.
