AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Resentment brewed among the people of Moyenama Village Panchayat under Baksanagar Block after the villagers were deprived from their wages.
Reportedly, around 29 villagers are deprived from their wages. According to the report, around Rs. 48, 4300 wages are yet to be paid among the villagers.
Villagers alleged that the amount of money has been embezzled by the members of the Panchayat.
According to the villagers, they were told that for every work they will be provided with Rs. 167 each. After prolonged three months the authority has decided to provide Rs. 150. Therefore, the total amount stands for Rs. 49, 300.
However, the villagers were waiting for prolonged three months. Besides, they also complained that several other embezzlements are going on in the Panchayat office.
However, till day no initiatives are being taken yet.
Despite of several tall claims by the authority to provide helping hand to the poor and needy, several poor families are suffering just because they are not paid on time. And most of the time their payment were being embezzled by the authority.
