Assam-Tripura CPI-M Unions  to launch joint movement against Assam on NH44 poor condition

AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): Assam and Tripura's CPI-M supported Motor workers union will launch joint movement to press their demand for the immediate action for the development of National Highway 44. The Motor Union leaders of Barak Valley and Tripura announced this in a press conference. The leaders blamed both Assam and Union govt for not taking adequate measure to repair the NH44 and held responsible for the huge embarrassment the passengers and motor workers facing while crossing over the stretch from Loarboa to Churaibari.

Demanding immediate restoration of standard condition of NH44 the CPIM backed Motor workers of Barak valley and Tripura yesterday formed a joint movement committee and vows to launch huge movement after Durga Puja if no action is taken by the respective govt. interestingly the leaders made no mention on the dilapidated condition of the part of NH44 in side Tripura. Addressing a press conference the Motor worker leaders of Barak valley Bidhu Ghosh and Jamiruddin Choudhury (Secretary and President, Motor Samity, Karimganj), Soumitra Chakraborty and Monojit Ghosh (Secretary and President, Tripura Motor Workers Union) said once the Durga Puja is over the Joint Movement Committee will submit memorandum to the Assam CM. criticizing the Assam govt that it is ignoring the people of lower Assam, Niloy Kanti Pal. President Badarpur Motor Driver Union said when they are fighting against the Assam govt in Assam, in Agartala people are to move both against the center and the Assam govt. terming the Assam govt as suppressive the leaders said the motor workers in Barak Valley are being subjected  of atrocities.

As expected, CPI-M backed Unions Praising Tripura govt for ‘over all development of the state and pro people attitude’ the Motor Union leaders informed the media that the CPIM led Left front has assured them that the Party will give all morale support in their agitation programme against Assam and central govt.

The CPI-M led movement on NH44 however in Tripura failed to get adequate response from the people of the state. The people of the state on the other hand raising voice against the failure of the state govt to improve the part of NH44 which has been taken over from the central govt.
