AGARTALA, Oct 16 (TIWN): The so called health revolution in the state is only lip service of ministers, “ babus” and remain confined only in files. The true picture of health revolution can be witnessed if any patient goes at IGM hospital, states primer referral hospital. For construction of high rise blocks for the hospital, crores and crores of rupees are spent. Unfortunately, for the referral hospital health department till date failed to procure a CT scan machine for patients. A CT scan machine was installed in PP model six years back in the ground floor of three storied block of IGM .

Within in two years, the diagnostic centre  stopped providing service to patients. After that for last three years patients are deprived from the service. But the health department did not take any initiative to  start the CT scan machine. As  a result patients coming  for treatment  are suffering. Patients are  prescribed  to do CT scan, the facility which is not available in IGM. They have to rush   private diagnostic centers or GBP hospital. For doing  CT scan in private  requires huge amount of money. It is really difficult for manage the money those are under privilege. Besides providing proper health service is also affected due to absence of CT scan machine in the hospital. There are even reports of death for failing to do CT scan in time. According to report  request was sent several times to health department from IGM for starting the CT scan service but health minister and health secretary yet to approve the request.
