UDAIPUR, Oct 15 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the ensuing Diwali celebration at Udaipur Tripura Sundari Mandir on Wednesday general meeting has been organized at BRC Hall under Matabari Block.
During the meeting, a preparatory committee of 135 members has been organized under the Chairmanship of MLA Madhab Saha. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Subashish Saha has been declared as the secretary of the committee.
In order to ensure peaceful Diwali celebration, several sub-committees has been formed.
During the Diwali, Hindu families illuminate their homes with diyas, small decorative clay lanterns that come in all colors and designs.
Every year on Diwali, a famous Mela takes place near the temple which is visited by more than two lakhs pilgrims.
Diwali, one of the brightest and biggest festivals is followed with the gathering of devotees in and outside the state. It is the festival of lights that illuminates the country with its brilliance and dazzles all with its joy.
During the meeting, District Magistrate Sonal Goel, District Sabadhipati Suniti Saha, Additional SP Tapan Debbarma, SDPO Ratan Kumar Das and others were present at the meeting.
Tripureswari temple is one of the 51 pithasthans in India as per Hindu mythology. One of the 51 pithas of Hindu pilgrims was built by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya in 1501 A.D.
In the eastern side of the temple there is a famous lake called Kalyan Sagar where fishes and tortoises of huge size are found. Kalyan Sagar is located on the eastern side of the Mata Tripuraswari Temple which is 3 km away towards south from Udaipur town. A big lake Kalyan Sagar just down to the Hillock at the backside of the Temple adds to its beauty.
