AGARTALA, Oct 14 (TIWN): Along with the nation, All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggist (AIOCD) call for 24-hour strike on October 14.
All the small chemist shops in Tripura will shut for prolonged 24hours on next week to protest against a burgeoning online pharmacy industry that is attracting big money backers.
Reportedly, keeping in mind the trouble to be faced by the general people during the strike hours few chemist shops will remain open.
Detailing about the shop it has been informed that Jeevan Deep, Paul Medical Hall and Adhiraj Medical Hall near the Agartala Government Medical College and GB Hospital will remain open.
Besides, Sarada Medical Hall, New Raju Medical Hall and Kiran Medical adjacent to RMS and IGM Hospital will remain open. For the assistance of the patients of the Tripura Medical College, Manda Medic, Swarupananda Medical Hall and Joyram Medical Hall will remain open.
According to the members of All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggist, the e-pharmacies challenge their business. Besides, it would allow medicines that are not allowed to sell in the market without verification.
Therefore, 8 lakh chemist, 40 lakh workers and implicitly 1.50 crore people will have to face uncertainty.
