KAMALPUR, Oct 12, (TIWN): In a move against the illegal practice of gambling, Kamalpur police achieved a great success at dead of night at remote Santosia para. Besides busting a den of gambling police nabbed six gamblers.

According to the police, acting on a tip-off Kamalpur police led by OC Swapan Sengupta raided at Santosia para around 11-30 pm last night. In this raid they busted a den of gamblers gambling on cards. Police also arrested six gamblers namely- Bidya Debbarma of Chotosurma, Sanjoy Debbarma of Thalbari, Gobinda Marar of Santosia, Dipak Debbarma of Santosia and Nirmal Das of Chotosurma. Police also recovered a sum of 27, 300 rupees and bundles of playing cards from the spot.
