AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): At last Tripura Tribal Autonomous Area District Council have shifted from the earlier demand of direct fund from the centre. The left front governed tribal district council now wants fund through state government not directly from centre.
Chief executive member of TTADC, Radha Charan Debbarma thinks it’s not necessary of directing funding from the centre. Even state government expressed the same view of Radha Charan Debbarma.
Then why CEM have shifted from the earlier demand of direct funding? Why the demand was made earlier? Do they have shifted due to some other reason.
AT present the state government is giving funds to the ADC from three plans – natural gas, share of taxes and transfer of funds. From natural gas ADC get 30 percent and from forest 70 percent of revenue The CEM lamented that the 14 Finance Commission have not sanctioned a single rupee of ADC. Where as the 13 Finance commission have sanctioned 296 crore82 lakhs rupees.
In financial year of 2014-15, from the sanctioned fund ADC would get Rs 150 crore but yet to receive. The 14 Financial Commission have deprived the ADC. The matter was drawn to the notice of the centre. Radhacharan thinks if no steps are taken then the development district council will come to stand still.
Debbarma also demanded from the centre to start three tier elected bodies like panchayat raj in TTAADC. The people residing in TTAADC should also enjoy the same rights as enjoyed by those people leaving outside TTADC..
