AGARTALA,Oct 1 (TIWN): From January next, the centre will implement the 7th pay commission. However, according to state finance minister left front government is not financial sound enough to give central pay structure to its employees. History tells left front government never took decision in favour of state employees. During thirty years more rule they have learnt one thing very well, how to deprive its employees.

The centre will implement the 7th pay commission for its employees and pension holders from January next.  But after finance minister recent comment on this it seems as if Tripura is not part of the country. If north east other states can why not Tripura?

Here there are two categories of employees – central and state.  Even after working in same post the DA and salary  gap of both are immense. The left government did not take any initiative to end the gap.  Instead they have done a U – turn on the issue. The finance minister categorically stated that under any circumstance the state government cannot give the pending DA to employees in future.

However on March 31 last at secretariat, Chief Minister declared   that the state government will  bring down the DA gap to zero level in phase manner. After the declaration, employees started thinking that now lady luck will smile on them. But there hope was shattered after the statement of finance minister.

From this its clear that the state government is not eager to have pay structures as per the centre.

Surprisingly, finance minister  rejected  chief minister announcement stating that he told of bringing the pending DA to zero level.    Chief minister said the government will try to do so.That means chief minister announcement  was only to woo the voters before ADC election.
