AGARTALA, Sep 25 (TIWN):At least one hundred people were taken ill after eating 'prasad' , an official said today. The condition of ten people reported to be serious and undergoing treatment at Kailashsahar district hospital.

According to police yesterday ( Thursday) Narayan puja was held in the house of Ajit Das at  Rajnagar Shantipara  in  Kumarghat  sub division.

Around 300 people  attended the ceremony and ate ‘Khichdi'prasad'  . 
"The people complained of uneasiness since yesterday but the situation turned serious from evening  when they started vomiting,"  police said.While most of the people were being treated at local hospital in  Kumarghat  some were shifted to the Kailashsahar  distirct hospital . 
"At present, the condition of all the affected people is under control. We have also set up a health camp in the village for check-ups," he said. Meanwhile,the SDM, Kumarghat    said an inquiry had been ordered into the incident.
