AGARTALA, September 24 (TIWN): Special Police Officer (SPO) Camp of Batadula village of Kamal Nagar area under Sonamura Sub-Division has been suffering from the scarcity of drinking water and lack of boundary, reportedly for prolonged many years due to the negligence of the State Government.

Reportedly, the security force of the SPO camp have been guarding from Kulu Bari area to South Kalam Choura till the bank of Kakdi River for 25years last.

Altogether, there are only six security forces which include two Nayab, one Constable and three SPO.

Interestingly, only six security forces have been allotted to safe guard the area from any kind of crime in the area and to run the SPO Camp.

Reportedly, earlier robbery, theft cases and many other crimes were rampant in the area. Therefore, a police camp was enforced 25years ago to bring the crime under control but for prolonged many years it has been suffering from acute scarcity of drinking water and no boundary.  

Presently, the security forces located over the area are facing acute scarcity of safe drinking water. Therefore, they had to depend on the water utilized for agricultural work.

The area where most of the time people stay in terror of being attacked by the robbers any time, the SPO camp do not have any boundary.

It is worthy to mention that the State Government is taking initiatives to develop the state in various sectors, but the police camp also need a keen eye of the State Government so that they can do their duty in the area without any problem and harassment.

A six person team is not enough to guard the huge area where there are chances of being robbed any time, said locals.

Besides, there are some areas where there is no fencing have been done yet and therefore the miscreants can enter easily. Therefore, the number of police personnel should be increased for the security of the people, added the locals.

However, the police personnel who play an important role in providing security to the people of the area are suffering due to the negligence of the concern department as well as the State Government.
