NATUNBAZAR, Sept 24 (TIWN): With the increasing water level at Dumboor lake, tension is prevailing within the people of that area.

According to the sources, due to continuous raining in last few days the water level of Dumboor lake has been increased. With the water-level increasing the dam of Dumboor lake is now on the verge of destruction.

Already, Gomati rivers water has started to overflow; as a result many areas have been flooded. It is only after 2008 that such a situation has been created. This has brought an affect in the vegetable price as crop failure has been occurred due to the overflow of water. On the bank of Gomati river (in many parts of Tripura), paddy fields are gripped under flood water.

Panic has been aroused among the farmers due to loss, resulted out of heavy rain. Centering the river Gomati, the fields which have been set with various machines are also under water. This is not only affecting the farmers’ livelihood but price hike at vegetable markets has become a matter of worry for the common people.

Moreover the Gomati river’s bridge which comes between Udaipur-Amarpur road, anytime can be destroyed. But till now, no step has been taken by the authorities to renovate it and thus any time it can be fell down.

Just after 10 km of that bridge the Dumboor dam is situated. According to the locals if rain continues like this then the situation may be worsen.
