Literacy survey to begin on October 15

AGARTALA, September 24 (TIWN): Aiming to gain 100 percent literacy in the state, as per the official report a survey will be conducted on October 15 to find out the people who have remained illiterate. The survey will be conducted through visiting every houses and it will continue till November 15.

It is to be mentioned here that an initiative will be taken to make the people literate after the survey is over.
However, the teaching procedure for people who are interested to gain literacy is expected to be conducted from December 1 and is schedule to continue till May 31 of the year 2016.
Besides, time to time exams will also be conducted for the candidates.
Apart from this, the candidates who have registered for the Equivalency Exam but could able to attend the exam, will get an opportunity tillMay 31 of the year 2016.
Besides, as per the official report, the candidates who have cleared the Equivalency Exam of Standard three can join their class for the fourth standard from November 1 onwards.
According to the official report, altogether 46, 674 candidates were registered for the standard three exam of the Equivalency Exam of State Equivalence Board under State Literacy Mission.
However, among the registered candidates a total of 39, 326 candidates have appeared for examination and among them 32, 328 have cleared the exam. Therefore, the percentage of the candidates who have cleared the exam was 82.18 percent.
During a meeting, it has been informed that altogether 58, 677 people were marked to provide skill development training. Among them a total of 28, 402 people are between 15 to 35 years of age and altogether 30, 275 people are between 35 above to 50 years of age.
However, according to the official report, till day 11, 248 people were given the various skill development training and assisted to become self sufficient.
It is worthy to mention that the State Government is taking initiatives to make the people literate and to make them self sufficient. However, despite of several initiatives many people in the interior parts of the state are suffering due to unemployment. Parents are selling their children in exchange of money. Besides, the RMSA workers are also not getting their salary since three months.
