AGARTALA, Sep 21 (TIWN): Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s visit here in Tripura had created much pressure on Tripura Govt. as lots of corruptions in last few years had hit Tripura’s Education System. Whether Tripura’s schools suffer due to lack of infrastructures or teachers suffer due to fixed pay scales, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty begged Union HRD Minister to release more funds for Tripura. Whether crores were looted in the name of RMSA or Mid-Day-Meal schemes, Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty remained numb regarding all of these scams and gave importance to other issues as fund allocation, no-detention policy etc. Intentionally State Govt. chalked a busy schedule of Smriti Irani so that BJP members would not meet her to expose corruptions, alleged BJP. But it was Smriti Irani who invited BJP leaders and accordingly they raised 3 issues which are related to State’s hefty corruptions in last few years. However, HRD Minister asked BJP to send every details of state corruptions related to Education.Tapan Chakraborty avoided TIWN questions on 5 crores RMSA scam, alongwith the CPI-M cadre cashier Arnab Chakraborty’s misdeeds on RMSA scam, and CM-CS books scam involving June 2, 2014 Govt Order asking Schools to buy private books which authored by Chief Minister (CM) and former Chief Secretary S.K.Panda by using RMSA funds.

School Education Director’s illegal order on June 2, 2014 to 8 District Education Officers to buy the books out of Central RMSA funds for all schools in Tripura.

While talking to BJP State President Sudhindra Dasgupta he said, “few matter which we already have taken to the centre and will discuss further and need to be exposed are:

1.     Tripura govt.’s violation of recruitment guidelines while recruiting 10,323 teachers including graduate, post graduate and primary teachers is still hanging at Supreme Court. Tripura govt. didn’t follow the codes and conducts while recruiting the teachers but this matter was hided during the meeting.

2.     In mid-day-meal scams schools of Tripura are in hit list. Whether students becoming ill due to consuming rotten mid-day-meal at schools, on the other hand funds in the name of mid-day-meal are looted by school departments at various places. But govt.’s negligence continues which hampers the Education system of the schools.

3.     Tripura lacks proper infrastructure in rural school, and as a result pass rate in rural schools are very less.

4.     Madurai Kamraj University’s illegal wide-spread at Tripura and govt.’s numbness against it also is a matter to be discussed

5.     Every year issues created regarding joint entrance including MBBS admissions.

“ In her one day visit Union Minister visited NIT to meet the students and during her speech she mentioned that NIT Agartala needs to be more developed in infrastructure in comparison to other states’ institutions,  was really appreciable and threw a direct question to the Education System of Tripura”, Dasgupta  said while talking to TIWN over phone.

However, Union HRD Minister asked Tripura BJP president to sent details of all allegations against the state govt. and then only centre can take any action against it, added Dasgupta.
