AGARTALA, Sep 18 (TIWN): State BJP seems reserved and sombre mood with the arrival of Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Smriti Irani on Friday. Talking to Sudhindra Dasgupta, Tripura State BJP President, he said, “BJP has not been included in any of her scheduled programme, so we are not also going to meet her”. “As we are not informed yet, so BJP would be silent with her arrival”, Sudhindra added.“However, Minister has kept a busy schedule where, to meet with state BJP members had no space, so it’s better to remain calm”, Sudhindra further said. “According to her schedule, after landing here in Agartala Airport, then after formal meeting she is going to NIT following which Smriti Irani will have a seminar and at evening meeting with CM, but state BJP has no role over there, so why should we would go to meet her?”Asking about the purpose of her visit Sudhindra said, “New Education Policy will be discussed between CM and Union Minister on Sept 18, but we are not informed anything about this. So BJP will remain silent”.

However it’s to be mentioned here that Tripura Education Department had organized a preparation meeting in the presence of Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty and discussed about the schedule programme of the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani.

According to the schedule, HRD Minister Smriti Irani in on September 18 will meet the Education Ministers and the Secretaries and discuss on the new education policy of the Centre and how to implement the policy here in state Tripura. At around 9 am Minister will land in Agartala Airport, then she will meet NIT students at 10.15 am. Then a seminar will be held in the afternoon at Pragna Bhawan with State Education Department.

However the main objective of the meeting will be to detail about the structure of the new education policy of the Centre and it to implementation in state Tripura also.
