SBI ATM robbery: One month ends, Manik's police yet clueless : Interstate robbers on crimes spree across Tripura

AGARTALA, Sept 17 (TIWN): It is going to be one month, yet the Tripura Police is clueless about the rest of the five absconding miscreants involved in the ATM robbery and lifting case from the Beltali SBI ATM counter under the AD Nagar Police Station.The incident of ATM robber and lifting the entire ATM took place on August 18 in the midnight.Talking to TIWN Correspondent on Wednesday, Sub-Inspector Bikas Debbarma said that the police is yet clueless about the five miscreants and the remaining sum that is amounting Rs. 20.23 Lakh.Detailing about the daring heist, he further said that investigation is going on and the police is trying its level best to trace the absconding miscreants as soon as possible.It is to be mentioned here that if the absconding miscreants are not arrested soon than the police will not be able to recover the remaining amount of Rs. 20.23 lakh.In a joint collaboration with the Assam police, the A.D.Nagar police had also collected huge number of evidence from Assam related to the ATM loot and has identified all the five other absconding culprits. But till day the police could not manage to trace the absconding miscreants yet.So far the police have managed to recover a total amount of Rs. 10.84 lakh and five of the miscreants among the 10 accused.

However, the other five miscreants who are arrested are in the jail custody and interrogation is further going on.

It is to be mentioned, during the investigation done by the representatives of the state police lead by former O/C Inspector Soumen Das during the visit to Assam, they found huge number of cases are pending and are lodged against the same gang under Meghalaya as well as Assam police station.

Reportedly, the gang also carries out such type of robbery in the entire NE region.

Besides, the Tripura police recently have gone through all the CCTV footage of the Banks as well as the ATM counters and managed to identify that there are some gangs who visits the banks daily to keep on the consumers.

Reportedly, they also managed to arrest six of the miscreants after they have identified them in the footage of the CCTV.
