Agartala, Sept 16 (TIWN): Mismanagements and chaos prevails at GBP hospital – main referral hospital of the state. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, Health minister Badal choudhury and bureaucrats are more interest in having high rise concrete structures. They are least interest to provide quality services to patients. GBP is state’s main referral hospital, decade back it was made medical college hospital. Than it was thought better and modern medical facilities will be provided. Patients mostly from privilege section of the society come every day for treatment. They are victims of hospital mismanagements.

According to report total chaos prevents at outdoor patients department (OPD). After waiting for long time in queue, patients have to return back without having any appointment with doctors. The service provided in OPD is from 9 am till 4 pm during working hours.

The registration for OPD begins from 9 am, patient stand in line from early morning. There are two registration counter, which is not enough to handle the heavy rush  of patients. They have to stand for hours to  get names registered in computer. After registration again they have to stand in a long queue for having appointment with doctors.

The period between registration and appointment is too long and frustrating. Many patients who come for treatment falls ill.In the registration counter there are only two computers, which is inadequate to handle thousands of patients who come every day. Earlier, there were five counters but many years hospital authority brought it down to two. Patients have to stand at inhuman conditions, with no fresh air circulation and water.

After getting registered after standing for hour, they go in OPD for hoping getting appointment with specialized doctors. But on several cases, they see junior’s doctor’s in chambers, no sight of specialized doctors. After 2 pm the chambers remain empty, even though its mandatory for doctors to stay in chambers from 10 am to 4 pm everyday during hours.
