AGARTALA, Sept 16 (TIWN): In yet another blow of child rape incident, panic has been created among the locals of Udaipur. The accused namely Prasenjit Debnath allegely kidnapped Ms Moni Jamatia (name changed) and raped her for 3 days. However, FIR had been lodged in Killa Police Station on that very day but police could not get any clue. Then it was on Monday that the Police caught Prasenjit Debnath and had produced before the court. Court has sent him to suffer 14 days Jail Custody.

Talking to TIWN, Police Officer Manik Nandi, I/O of the case said that the event took place at Killa, under Udaipur Sub-division, before 3 days when Prasenjit Debnath Kidnapped her and raped her brutally after taking her to Dhanpur.

The FIR had been registered with the case no.14/15 on but the victim could return back to her home on Sept 14 at night.Police didn’t catch the accused for many days and that helpless girl was victimized due to the negligence role of police. Allegations are coming against police of Killa for not arresting Prasenjit Debnath intentionally. Prasenjit Debnath is a well-known CPI-M cadre of that place whose influence worked upon the role of police.

It’s to be mentioned that human rights are violating everyday here in the state. Tripura has become such a place where women, including minor girls are not  secure anyhow.

When Ministers share the dais and makes tall claims through various awareness programmes that crime rates has been decreased in the state, they may not even remember how many rape incidents are going on everyday in the state.
