Death of Amlan failed to arouse the consensus of the administration: Saniya Reang fountain remained unprotected and covered with jungle

KAMALPUR, September 16 (TIWN): The untimely death of Amlan Sharma of Ambassa not yet turned pale enough from the memories of the concerned. But the development-happy and people-friendly administration and the political authority reluctantly passed their time when the visitors passed their every minute in great danger while visiting the attractive Sanaiya Reang para fountain.

Even after more than two months of Amlan’s death at the attracting Sanaiya Reang para fountain, the scenario showed the reluctance and negligence from the part of the authority as an Editor of a vernacular weekly visited the spot with his family on Monday last. The entrance of the spot was made safe with a bridge over the rivulet which turned into the fountain almost twenty metres ahead. But after that bridge all remained the same. The slippery, narrow and muddy path covered with jungles and without any safety arrangements made the place extremely dangerous. The whirling ups and downs turned more dangerous with the fear that a slip would ensure a fall of at least two hundred feet and sure death.

The place with its magnificent flora and fauna and the roaring fountain obviously would attract the nature-lovers. But the dangers which could easily be remedied by the authority still remained the main barrier.  It remained more astonishing as the former deceased MLA of the area Sudhir Das got sanctioned a master plan of crores of rupees for making the spot a tourist hub and works also started. But after his death all hurly-burly paused and now none seemed interested into the matter. Now was it a matter of political authoritarianism or bureaucratic negligence remained the question of the hour.
