Sabroom court incident:  State BJP  writes to  Union Home Minister

Agartala, Sept 13 (TIWN):The Sabroom Court incident news now have reached Delhi. The whole incident was briefed to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Law Minister Sadanand Gowda. Both union minsters were briefed about the incident by State BJP observer Sunil Deodhar. In the letter it was mentioned that the ruling CPI(M) party is trying to cover up the incident. The centre should send a high level team to inquire the incident. The central intervention is necessary to restore faith in democracy and teach lesson to those involved in attacking the judiciary – a pillar of democracy.So, without any delay the centre should send a team for inquiry.

 The picketers on nationwide bandh on September 2   attacked Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate of Sabroom Court (South Tripura District) – Sourabh Saha when he reached the court to attend office. The mobs also ransacked his office forcing him to seek shelter in the toilet room. In the incident, many police officers including Sub Divisional Police Officer and Sabroom police station Officer –in-Charge were also injured.

Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta wrote to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar urging him to ensure protection of courts and staff. Jusitce Gupta and Register General visited Sabroom  after the incident to review  the situation. Four CPI(M) workers were arrested in connection with the attack on a court in Sabroom
