Two-day long 8th Biennial Conference of TAGA observed

AGARTALA, September 12 (TIWN): Tripura Agriculture Graduates’ Association on Saturday organized a two days long 8th Biennial Conference at Nazrul Kalashetra.

The two-day long programme will continue till September 13.

Agricultural Minister Aghore Debbarma has inaugurated the programme in the presence of Principal Secretary of Agriculture Dr. G.S.G Ayyangar and others. Besides, Minister Aghore Debbarma has also released the souvenir of the TAGA.

Altogether ten farmers were felicitated as Achiever Farmers on Saturday which includes the farmers of Dhalai District, Khowai District, North District, Unakoti District, Gomati District, South District, West District and Sepahijala District.

A deliberation on Land Acquisition Bill and Farmers’ interest by Professor Shyamal Chakraborty was also held.

Speaking at the programme, General Secretary of TAGA said that at present around 3 metric tone of rice are produced in the state at every hector of land. The quantity of production done in the state is first among all the North-East states, added.

Besides, He said that under the TPS potato cultivation Tripura comes in the first position. The Indian Government has been awarded Tripura many times for the type of initiatives.

Besides, on the second day of the programme Chief Minister Manik Sarkar is expected to unfurl the programme on September 13, in the presence of Principal Secretary of Agriculture Dr. G.S.G Ayyangar, Chief Executive Member of TTAADC Radha Charan Debbarma and others.

However, funds will be donated to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
