AGARTALA, Sept 11 (TIWN) :The state government seems to be worried about CBI. The reason - two senior most heads of the administration is under CBI and vigilance investigation. Both are the trusted lieutenants of the government. Reportedly, to slow down the investigation initiative are been taken politically. More importance are been given to charge sheeted officers than honest officers by the government. Serious resent are brewing in the civil and police administration.According to Secretariat sources, the Central government is keen to end CBI investigation against in-charge DGP K Nagraj against whom CBI filed charge sheet on March 29, 2007 . Not only in this case, CBI was directed to end the investigation against all civil service officers in the country. Two senior civil service officers from the state figures in the charge sheet list. This is the reason to worry for state government.CBI Filed chargesheet against Mr.Nagraj Kasinadhuni IPS on March 29, 2007 for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Prior to that CBI had registered the disproportionate assets case against him in 2005, filed FIR.

CBI on March 29,2007 charge-sheeted Mr. K. Nagraj for possessing assets 500 times more than his known source of income.CBI Filed chargesheet against  Mr.Nagraj Kasinadhuni IPS on March 29, 2007 for  amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. It’s known to everybody that Ayyangar  is now working as the  defacto Chief Cecretary of the state.

He is very close to ruling  Left Front government and  CPI(M) party. After 2008 assembly election he left the state, than he  was chief election commissioner.  The opposition leveled lot of allegation against for his biased role in the election.

Nagraj, an IPS officer of the 1983 batch of the Manipur-Tripura cadre, was charge-sheeted along with his father and brother in the court of the Special Judge, Hyderabad, for possessing assets in his own name as well as in the names of his family members. Investigations by CBI revealed that during 1978 to 1997, the officer had acquired assets and incurred expenditure to the tune of Rs 83.42 lakh against an income of Rs 13.24 lakh from all his known sources of income.

“The officer was found to have possessed disproportionate assets to the tune of over Rs 70 lakh during the period that is to the tune of more than 500 per cent compared to the known sources of income,” said G Mohanty, spokesperson of CBI in 2007.

Present chief secretary Y P Singh reportedly has no role to play in daily affairs of the state. He was not in the good book of state government. Having no other option, Singh was made chief secretary after senior IAS Srivastav declined to become chief secretary.

CBI charge sheeted ,Ayengar also happens to be the blue eyed boy of chief minister Manik Sarkar. He was entrusted with important departments. Other than his department, he has been told to look after files of other departments.

The is the case with DGP, for last one year   he is working as in – charge DGP. Perhaps, this  is for the first  happening  in the history of the country when a charge sheeted IPS is holding the top position of police administration.
