AGARTALA / BISHALGARH, Sept 11 (TIWN): Joint secretary of Union Ministry of Rural Development Aparajita Sarengi’s sudden visit on Sept 14 to inspect MGNREGA irregularities in Dhalai and Sepahijala Districts created havoc in Manik Sarkar’s administration. Tripura is a state where rampant corruptions over Rs 500 crores in rural development schemes like MGNREGA are high in agenda, although state govt. claims itself for being awarded (actually ‘stage managed by fake statistics’) with 1st prizes in Rural development schemes. While talking to TIWN over phone, Pradip Kr. Chakraborty, DM Sepahijala said that on September 15, Aparajita Sarengi is coming to introspect various field works in Sepahijala District. Ms. Sarengi will also inspect various development works and will enquire about the progress of those central schemes, he confirmed. Sephijala Dist. which has been hit with massive Rs 51 crore MGNREGA scams, will be visited by Sarengi on September 15. She will also visit Dhalai Dist. on September 14 after her arrival.Rs 51 crore scamster BDO Bimal Chakraborty (also CM Manik’s close aide) and many officials against whom cases were filed in Bishalgarh Police Station, comes under Sepahijala Dist. and Sarengi’s upcoming meet with high officials including DM Sephaijala has panicked whole district.

Principal Secretary of RD and Manik Sarkar's most trusted corrupt IAS officer GSG Ayyangar working overtime to fix the balance sheets to hide hundreds of crores looted money.

GSG Ayyangar's name is well known nationwide for involvement in "Hyderabad Timer Scandal' and pocketing crores of ill-gotten wealth.

It is to be mentioned here that not only Sepahijala but the whole state is gripped under corruption mostly orchestrated by ruling CPI-M and ManiK Sarkar, and  Bishalgarh RD block financial scam has also become a major political issue with the opposition parties attacking the Left Front government, which has been in power over more than two decades.

However DM further said, “Her arrival will be on routine basis, there is no connection between her arrival and MGNREGA scam introspection”.

“Of course introspection, monitoring and supervision of field work: which comes under MGNREGA, will be done by her and I will accompany her, which is my duty”, said DM.

He also mentioned, “scams and corruptions will be dealt by the court, this is not her job”, “however she may direct some actions, which are not yet done against some corrupted persons”, he added.

“This is disciplinary action and she will meet all the high officials including Chief Secretary and Principal secretay of Tripura”, he said.

Moreover, this 51 crores' MGNREGA scam, one of the top-most scams of state Tripura, where CM Manik Sarkar’s close allies involvements’ had been allegedly found, is resting within files due to poor investigation process  by police.

SP Sepahijala Pradip Dey aid while talking to TIWN that “Investigation is going well, chargesheet although not all are submitted”.

However, talking to Arun Sarkar, of Bishalgarh PS and I/O of the MGNREGA case, he mentioned that they could not submit the all charge sheets till now, and in total 25 charge sheets have been submitted. In total 36 govt. employees are identified as to be involved in this scam, said police. The charges lodged against them (409/468/471/34 of IPC),  filed at Bisalgarh Police Station, is undergoing slow-investigation, intentionally directed by govt. and Police is busy in never-ending charge sheet submitting. However, "4 more charge sheets submitted on Tuesday",said police.
