Agartala, September 7 (TIWN): Teachers Day was celebrated in the state along with the nation. For last 54 years, the former President of the nation S. Radhakrsihnan birthday have been celebrated as teacher’s day. On this day, the role of teacher’s in the society is reviewed.
For last one decade there was immense infrastructure development in education field, huge amount of money being spent. But unfortunately, the quality of education in the state has not improved. It has deteriorated further.
Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty while speaking on the occasion stated that imparting quality education in the state is still a distant dream in spite of providing students free study materials, stipend, mid – day meal etc.
He squarely blamed the teachers for deterioration of education in the state. Is the minister not responsible for poor education picture? Instead of indulging in blame games, he should have reviewed his role as education minister.
Teachers are backbone of society. They shape the future generation. Can the education minister tell those who were given the responsibility at all have the quality to shape the future generation? Tapan
