CJ Deepak Gupta affect among Sabroom Police: All culprits arrested within 24 hours: High Court's fear rattles CPI-M,Manik Sarkar;  SP South talks to TIWN

SABROOM / AGARTALA, September 6 (TIWN): Within 24 hours after High Court Chief Justice Deepak Gupta's visit at Sabroom and his meeting with officials regarding the attack of CPI-M cadres on Magistrate Sourabh Saha, Sabroom Police arrested more 2 culprits related to this incident. While talking to TIWN; SP South Bhanupada Chakraborty mentioned that police arrested 2 more accused namely Abhijit Dey, resident of Anandapara, Sabroom and Abhik Basak, resident of Amtali, Sabroom from their own houses on Sunday early morning at around 3 am. In total FIR has been lodged against 4 persons for attacking Magistrate including other officials, two of them earlier arrested namely Bijay Dey and Biswajit Dey.It’s to be mentioned that police was initially failed to arrest the accused CPI-M leaders after 3 days passage of the incident, but just after the visit Chief Justice and his condemnation upon the incident police immediately caught them.It is to be mentioned here that Magistrate Saurabh Saha has lodged FIR against two CPI-M leaders identified as Bijay Dey and Biswajit Dey and other picketers. On the other hand, OC Sanjit Sen has lodged complaint against 4 persons.Magistrate Saurabh Saha filed FIRs against 2 local CPI-M leaders Bijay Dey and Biswajit Dey as main culprits. But the case had been lodged against in total 4 persons amongst whom on Friday culprits Bijay Dey, Biswajit Ghosh had been arrested and Abhijit Dey and Abhik Basak have been arrested on Sunday.

On Sept 2, during the strike Magistrate Saurabh Saha alongwith two other employees and a bank clerk was on the way to the court when the CPI-M goons/picketers blocked him entering court. Finally with Police escorted Judge Saurabh Saha entered Court. After a while, when Saha began his work, CPI-M goons thronged into his office and broke the doors and windows alongwith benches and beaten up Judge.

 On Saturday, Chief Justice Deepak Gupta went to Sabroom and held 1 hour meeting with the officials. Deepak Gupta on his Saturday’s visit said, “Attack on judges is simply attacking the entire judicial system of State and it is very dangerous for Democracy”, Chief Justice Deepak Gupta condemned attack on Judge Saurabh Saha and decaying law & order situation in State. He also pushed the DM, ADM and other police officials to look after the matter and said, “although full Tripura has observed the strike peacefully, Belonia and Sabroom has failed to do this”.

 Chief Justice Dipak Gupta said that such an incident is a threat to democracy and persons who are involved in this will be punished soon, it doesn’t matter they belong to which group or party.”I am shocked with this attack on Judicial system, also very upset after such an incident, took place with a Magistrate”, he added and surprisingly all the accused are arrested within 24 hours of passage.
