UDAIPUR,September 6 (TIWN): Another incident of rape was committed by a CPI-M cadre and once again not surprisingly local CPI-M leaders led by the Ex-Pradhan came to the aid of the culprit pressurising the victim's family to come to a compromise with Rs 3000/- or else(the leader threatened) the family may face even bigger threat even after 10 years. This time the incident took place in Hotat Chowmahani, Near Hadra under Lakraban Police Station. A 5 year old Rita Kar( covered name) was raped by her neighbour Nirmal Debnath, S/O- Nagendra Debnath on the fateful noon (around 12.30pm) on 17th August.

 In the absence of her parents Nirmal took the girl to his home and raped her and then threatened not to reveal this to anyone. Scared by his threat the girl too didn't tell this to anybody but on 18th September she began to feel pain on her private parts. And at night she told everything to her mother. Being shocked at it her mother took Rita to Gomati District Hospital and after medical test the doctors on duty advised the parents to lodged FIR in Police Station. On 20th August the girl's mother Santana Kar lodged FIR in Kakaraban Police station and police registered a case (Case No-44/2014) under 376(2)(I)/ 506 IPC and 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act 2012.

        Meanwhile a group of CPIM leaders led by Ex-Pradhan of Hadra Panchayat namely Dhiman Bhowmik was pressurizing the girl's parents to withdraw all complaints. However, within 24 hours police arrested the criminal and produced him before the court . But as the accused produced a false age proof certificate , he was sent to Juvenile Home(as school certificate says him to be a boy of 17 though originally he is more than 18). Dhiman Bhowmik threatened girl's parents to come to a compromise with Rs 3000/- or else they will face a terrible fate even after 10 years.

        However, as the girl's parents did not agree with CPIM leaders proposal , on 21st August the father of the girl was biten by a group of CPIM cadres led by Dhiman Bhowmik, as alleged by the localites. It is to be noted here that since 2013 Kakraban has been in the headlines for such brutal incidents with more than 15 incidents of rape and in most of the cases the culprits are known for their political loyalty towards CPIM. And their political gurus too are leaving no stone unturned to protect these culprits ( the precious wealth of their party). Kakraban comes under the Assembly Constituency of Tourism Minister Ratan Bhowmik and continuos barbarism over the last two years clearly indicates that even the Minister does not take strict control over his party cadres. As such more than 15 cases or rape have been registered within 2 years time and this shows that the safety and security of womanhood in Kakraban are under serious threat in ' White CM' Manik Sarkar's 'Golden Era'.
