Police recovered kidnapped victim from Dharmanagar

AGARTALA, September 3 (TIWN): Churraibari Police on Thursday successfully managed to recover businessman Lutfur Rahman from Dharmanagar area.

According to the police sources, victim Lutfur Rahman has been released on Thursday without any demand. Rahman was released at Damcherra area last night. Police recovered him from Dharmanagar when he was walking back home from the Damcherra area.

However, police has arrested all the four accused. During the interrogation police found Lutfur Rahman’s younger brother Harif Ali was the master mind of the kidnapping. And the other three accused are Jiam Uddin, Prakash Debnath and Habadur Rehman who are the localities.

The police further produced the four accused before the Dharmanagar Court.

Besides, in the wake of raising voice against the negligence of police, traders of Kadamtali on Thursday called for 12-hour strike when after a considerable period of the kidnapping businessman Lutfur Rahman, police failed to reveal any clue.

Except a few petty shops, almost all shops, business establishments, roadside tea stalls and hotels downed their shutters across Kadamtali in response to a 12-hour strike called by the traders of the area.

According to the report, police has earlier managed to detain four suspected persons along with an Alto 800 car bearing the registration number TR05-0519 in connection with the kidnapping incident.

Among the detained, Lutfur Rahman’s younger brother is being suspected as the master mind of the plan. Besides, car driver Ashad Ali (22) and the owner of the car Abdul Munim were grilled by the police during the interrogation hour.

The incident took place when businessman Lutfur Rahman (50) of Fulbari village under Churraibari Police station was returning home with his bike bearing registration number TR02-A-8857 and the miscreants abducted him from the Premtala area adjacent to Fire Service station on August 31.

However, after getting the information the Churraibari police and Kadamtala police jointly conducted an operation at Premtala and its adjacent area.
