TGEA calls for General Strike on September 2

AGARTALA, Sept 1 (TIWN): Alongwith the nation, Tripura is also going to hold the general strike on September 2 to pursue with the 12 points charter of demands.

The general strike will be held across the nation demanding for 12 points charter of demands in one voice condemns the BJP-led NDA Government’s anti worker, anti-peasants, anti-people and pro-corporate and many others.

However, the declared country wide united protests and resistance through General Strike on  September  2 is against these above policies and to pursue with the 12 points charter of demands, confirmed HB Road Consistency Committee, General Secretary Ashim Paul.

The unanimous declaration of the National Convention, organized by Central Trade Unions and all India State Employees Federation of all sectors and services condemned the Modi Government for bringing sweeping changes in the Land Acquisition Act permitting forcible acquisition of land from the farmers and drastically curbing farmer’s right to land and agricultural worker’s right to livelihood, bringing sweeping changes in the labour laws in favour of the employers and many others.

However, All India State Government Federation as a part of accreditation organization of Tripura Government Employees’ Association along with others calls for the General Strike.

According to the official report, all the state government offices and the government undertaken organizations will remain open like any other working days. Besides, if anyone fails to obey the order than strict action will be taken against.

The working people of the country, from almost all the sectors of all the states, are all set for the 24 hour strike on September 2.

Blaming the BJP Government in the Centre, Ashim Paul in a press conference said that the public has been facing iniquity just after the BJP came in to the centre.

He further said that in the name of good days BJP is forcing people to face the misery. Adding to his statement he said that the farmer suicides are still continuing during BJP’s regime.

He also said that the BJP is government is further planning to snatch the rights of the labour class.

However, on September 2 All the Central Trade Unions and all India State Employees Federation will be joining the general strike.

All the states have organized joint Conventions and adopted resolutions calling upon the unions and federations in the state to join the countrywide strike.
