Solar electrification in remote areas

Agartala, Sep 8, (TIWN) State government has decided to provide solar electrification facility to the remote area people of 23 villages across the state. The project would be being implemented by Tripura Renewable Energy Development Agency (TREDA).
An amount of Rs. 8.12 crore has been sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Renewable Energy and the state government. Joint Director of TREDA Babul Chakraborty said already work has started in remote areas of South Tripura district and work has commenced in Mungiakami block during last week. Altogether 6941 families belonging to the targeted 23 villages will get the benefit of solar electrification scheme.
