KAMALPUR, AUGUST 25 (TIWN): Police atrocities specially in the name of motorbike checking reached its climax here at Kamalpur. The commoners alleged that, the police charged fines on petty issues and if the rider expressed inability to pay the fine on spot the authority just robbed them. Even in some cases the riders appealed to the authority to provide chance to pay fine in the Court when the police even seized the bike.

In such an inhuman incident SDPO Uttam Banik made a youth to sell his bridal ring to pay 1, 000 rupees fine. The boy Dhiman Das alleged this matter in tears at the Press Club today. According to Dhiman, he was on his way to Kamalpur with his TR-01-R-9185 BAJA Pulsar from Manikbhander when the SDPO stopped him at Manikbhander. He had all the required documents but the helmet. SDPO charged him a fine of 1, 000 rupees under sections 18, 196, 129 & 177 of MV Act. He pleaded to the SDPO of not having so-much money with him and to send the matter to the Court. But allegedly, the SDPO threatened him to seize his bike along with documents if he not paid the fine. Then he had to sell his bridal ring and paid his fine.

Now question aroused that why the police would be so inhuman. Besides, in the cases of thefts, selling of contrabands police just got fumbled and met their anguish with the bike riders.
