AGARTALA, August 22 (TIWN): Even after 28-year of the construction of Hostel building for the Muslim minority near the Kailashahar court till day the building remains unused.

The hostel was constructed in the year 1987, October 9 at a cost of Rs. 25 Lakh in order to help the Muslim minority students who come from far flung to accomplish their studies.

According to the report, the hostel was inaugurated by former PWD Minister Baidya Nath Majumder with an aim to provide shelter for the Muslim minority students from far flung.

The two storey building has become a place of illegal activities which is hampering the peaceful environment of the area.

The hostel closed one year after the inauguration of it. Currently, a tea stall has been running on the ground floor. Besides, some of the rooms of the first floor are open and some are closed.
