AGARTALA, August 13 (TIWN): Industries & Commerce Minister Tapan Chakraborty informed that work process of establishing two rice mill unit comprise of modern technology has been going on at Udaipur and Kumarghat.
Both the rice mills will have the capacity ranging 2tones per hour, added Minister Chakraborty.
Besides, he also informed that six seed processing projects have been started at Agartala, Udaipur, Baikhora, Kalyanpur, Salema and Kumarghat.
However, to improve the small and medium industry which are dependent on agriculture and horticulture various initiatives are being taken by the state Government. The initiatives includes that to create awareness in different district of the state to improve the industrial sector of the state and to establish small scale industries many awareness camp has been organized.
It has been mentioned that under the Ministry of Food processing, through various projects of the national Mission on Food Processing, the industrial initiatives were given financial support.
Along with training facility, facility for Entrepreneurship Development Programme has been done. Many other initiatives have been taken for the interested individuals in establishing small scale industries in the state.
Besides, in order to improve the industrial sector in the state, a food park has been established at Bodhjungnagar of Khoyarpur.
However, Minister further informed that altogether 167 tea processing were being established. Besides, rice, cashew nuts and many others industries are being growing in the state.
