AGARTALA, August 7 (TIWN): The Students’ Guardian Forum on Thursday demanded the Tripura High Court to legalise the private tuition by the government teachers for at least three years in view of better future of the student. However, hearing the case on Thursday the HC had decided to give the final verdict on its next hearing on August 20.The forum on Thursday was in opinion that lack of quality teachers in the government schools across the state had ruined the education system and had left the students move daily to the private tutors. They demanded the HC that in view of the interest of the students the private tuition is required for class 10, class 11 and class 12 standard students for at least three years.Besides, talking to TIWN in regard of the hearing held at HC on Thursday Advocate Dipak Kr. Biswas said, “The HC today said that it had not yet pronounced any order regarding the ban of private tuition by the government or the private school teachers.”“HC also said that keeping the interest of the students in mind and about their future the HC would give its final verdict on August 20next,” Biswas told to TIWN.

At the meantime several other government schools would also file an affidavit with the High Court just prior to the final verdict.

The Tripura Students’ Guardian Forum had recently filed an affidavit before the HC seeking continuation of private tuition by government teachers before drawing a conclusion.

They also claimed that the sudden ban on the private tuition would hamper the future of the students as they are already under process preparing for the board examination and the dependence on private tutors has come up important for the students.

“But we are not against the ban on private tuition in principle, what is a matter of concern is that at this moment we cannot stop our wards from going to the private tuition as the board examination in very near whereas the teachers also needs to guide our wards towards scoring well in examination,” claimed the petitioners who had filed an affidavit with the HC recently.
