Agartala gears up for the celebration of Independence Day

AGARTALA, August 7 (TIWN): Along with the Nation, Tripura will also witness the celebration of Independence Day at the Assam Rifle ground.

According to the official report, a whole day long clearance campaigning will be done in the Agartala City including Assam Rifles ground, Gandhi Bedi, Post office Choumuhani, various schools and Colleges on August 14.

Besides, a cross country running competition will be observed at the Umakanta Ground on August 14. During the competition, the women will run for 3 kilometer and the men for 5 kilometers.

The celebration of the Independence Day will commence with a rally. At 7 am in the morning it is expected that the Jail Minister Manindra Reang will host the National Flag at the Civil Secretariat.

The Hosting of National Flag will be followed by paying tribute to the Gandhi statue. Governor Tathagata Roy and Jail Minister Manindra Reang will pay floral tribute to the Gandhi Statue and later they will visit Gandhi Ghat and at Post Office Choumuhani.

However, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will host the National Flag at Assam Rifle where the main programmed will be organized.

During the programmed, March-past and PT will be displayed and awards will be distributed to the winners.

Further, various other programmers will be observed on the day followed by a cultural programmed which will be organized with the initiatives of the School Education Department and Information and Cultural Affairs department.
