AGARTALA, August 6 (TIWN): Just hours to go today before 2nd Tripura Conclave at 5 pm at Rabindra Bhavan with the initiative of Tripurainfoway, would be the first of its kind of visionary steps for establishing IT Industry in Tripura region. H.E. Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy would grace the Conclave as the Chief Guest. Thanks to the much awaited accord penned by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on last June 6, 2015 which is to soon usher a new era of IT (Information Technology) driven economic development in India’s unexplored North East’s (NE) second most populous state Tripura. India-Bangladesh surplus under-sea internet bandwidth (10 Gbps) sale agreement was signed during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic June 2015 visit to Dhaka in presence of Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina. Many visionaries will deliberate upon the importance of IT Industry in a remote region like Northeast which can be flagged off and the potential for IT industry as a catalyst for economic transformation to be discussed.

Today, IT provides the communication and analytical power that organizations need for conducting trade and managing business at global level with much ease. To coordinate their worldwide network of suppliers, distributors and consumers, organizations have developed global information systems that can track orders, deliveries, and payments round the clock. This has been possible because of the development of IT in its present form.

In the last two decades, the Indian IT/ITES industry has contributed significantly to Indian economic growth in terms of GDP, foreign exchange earnings and employment generation. The industry has been the trigger for many "firsts" and has contributed not only to unleashing the hitherto untapped entrepreneurial potential of the middle class Indian but also taking Indian excellence to the global market. So why Tripura should stay behind? The answer of the question would be traced in Second Tripura Conclave.

Experts and officials from USA, UK, Taiwan and South Korea, state bureaucrats from Chief Secretary to Industries Secretary, IT Secretary, Industries & Commerce Director and number of senior IAS, IPS and IFS officials would remain present in the second Tripura Conclave to exchange their opinions and ideas apart from doing every possible bit to lay a feasible roadmap for a vibrant IT industry here in Tripura. Minister of Industries & Commerce Tapan Chakraborty would also address in the programme.

“Very obviously, IT industry would help not only an IT engineer but students across all the domains like accounting, HR, management, public relations and communication would be provided with meaningful employments”, said Bank of America Vice President (Network Engineering) Saumen Sarker. The Convener of this year’s Tripura Conclave Mr. Subir Bhaumik (Former Eastern India Bureau Chief of BBC and Senior Editor bdnews24.com) has invited all for making Tripura Conclave a grand success and thus laying the foundation stone of IT industry and subsequently putting Tripura in the thought map of the India and rest of the world.

Meanwhile, Editor of Tripurainfoway Saumen Sarker who is also Vice President of Bank of America’s Global Network and Infrastructure Solutions would also put light on the subjective theme of Internet Gateway and how does it work and what Agartala, being the third internet gateway, has to offer towards the deployment of IT industry. Relating to the same, Mr. Sarker also acts as one of the advisers in the IT industry promotion board of the other State Govts. So, capitalising on the advices, suggestions, domain knowledge and proven experience of those visionaries the state government is on the forefront of a huge opportunity for the people and economy of Tripura.

Besides, Muti-Billion Hinduja group’s Global Chief Technology Officer C.Subramanya is one of the key note speakers of  Tripura conclave, which is envisaging to sketch out a blue print for conversion of industry deserted Tripura into an IT hub.

The revolutionary pact (India Bangladesh Surplus undersea Internet Bandwidth of up to 10.2 Gbps Sale Agreement) is to unfold multi dimensional positive consequences on the future ways of the state Tripura. And the same is not confined within the set up of few offices of couple of IT giants in the state but the same would also place a multiplier effect in the overall economy of NE India’s second most viable state. Job opportunities for IT and computer science students, diverse indirect employment, world class IT service for the state people and other government and non-governmental establishments, infusion of multi million rupees into state’s Gross Domestic Product (GSDP), an industry friendly image of state and creation of other subsidiary (like IT’S) industries are some of the rays which would shine in the gloomy industry deprived sky of the Tripura, which is, within next six or seven months would start to function  as India’s third Internet Gateway.

The entire team of Tripurainfoway, on behalf its Editor and Convenor Subir Bhaumik solicit the kind presence of all the people from every sphere of the society for a splendid success of Second Tripura Conclave.
