State Cong. protests against the suspension of 25 MPs, observes “Black Day for Democracy”

KAILASHAHAR, August 6 (TIWN): Cong. at Kalishahar has come in mass demonstration against the decision of Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday to suspend 25 Congress Parliamentaries. Congress is observing it as a “black day” in democracy.

Talking to the Cong. leaders from Kailshahar they said to TIWN, “this is a kind of violation of democracy in the country where a person can not speak openly.  So we are protesting against this action of the speaker which has thrown a bitter experience for Congress.” Cong. has been showing their agitation at Kailashahar under the leadership of Sushanta Chakroborty, Yuba Cong. leader; Badujjam, Jilla Cong. Shabhadipati, Renu Mia, Nirmal Malakar and others.

However it is to be mentioned here that Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan suspended the Congress MPs for five days for "wilfully obstructing the business of the house" and not adhering to her repeated requests to observe the rules in the house on Monday. Also, Sonia Gandhi raised slogans along with others against the NDA government against this very act. Amongst the suspended MPs there are B. M. Chandrappa, Santokh S Chaudhary , Sushmita Dev, Nining Ering, Gaurav Gogoi and others.

Netaji Murti Sanghathita area, under Kailashahar has been hit by the assemblage of opposition leaders and members. However talking the Jilla Shabhadipati of Kailsahar he said, we are protesting to observe the black day in democracy. Nation where people have no right to speak can not be called at all a total democratic country.
