AGARTALA, August 5 (TIWN): Just after the state Left front government cabinet meeting had tied a nod to the direct recruitment process forming a board to fill up the vacant posts of the LDCs and Group D without referring to Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC), the state secretariat employees’ body on Tuesday has hit the secretary office opposing the cabinet decision announced on Tuesday. They claimed, “The state Left front government is on a spree to build the second party office in the secretariat.” Besides, the opposition congress on the very first day has called to withdraw the decision immediately saying that the decision of direct recruitment of the candidates without referring the TPSC would in future politicize the state secretariat taking the corruption rampant. The Tripura Mahakaran Karmachari Samiti on Tuesday opposing the state cabinet decision had claimed that the state government had so far not taken any necessary step towards filling up the 93 vacant posts of the total 182 and amidst this the government leaving no stone unturned had now tied a nod to the direct recruitment process.

“We oppose the decision of direct recruitment of the candidates without referring the TPSC because the state government is on a spree building another party office here at the secretariat” adding the employees’ body said, “We strongly demands the state government to withdraw the decision immediately.”

The leaders of the employees’ body on Tuesday had demanded the state government to take up proper recruitment process trough TPSC with an aim to maintain the quality recruitment of the candidates.

Till the year 2011 the state government has got the vacant posts filled up entirely by the TPSC and this was the last recruitment process being filtered by the TPSC.

However the employees’ body opposing the decision has taken up the matter with the State Chief Secretary Y P Singh and had urged him to talk to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar towards fulfilling the demand of the state secretariat employees’ body.

Several allegation rose against the state government just after the cabinet on Tuesday tied a nod to the direct recruitment process. It was alleged that the state Left front government is now on a spree forming separate party office here at the state secretariat.

The Tripura cabinet on Tuesday amending the Tripura Secretariat Service rules has decided to form separate state board for recruiting competent candidates for the Lower Division Clerk (LDC), Group-D and other such posts.

Talking to the reporters here at the civil secretariat after the cabinet meeting Finance Minister Bhanulal Saha said, “To contain the heavy stress of the Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC) the state cabinet had decided to form the separate board for recruiting staffs for the LDC and other posts in the secretariat.”

He said that from now the separate board of the state government would recruit the competent candidates for the posts. Earlier the TPSC was in authority to recruit for those posts, said Saha.
