KHOWAI, August 2 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, three women of Tabla Bari of Mahadeb Tilla under Khowai Police Station snatched an important file of police personals on Saturday at Khowai District Hospital after they had a quarrel over a post-mortem issue of their relative.
Reportedly, the incident took place when Shadhan Das (52) was taken to the hospital on Friday mid-night after he had a stroke at 2 am. When he was taken to the hospital, the doctor did all the required preliminary treatment but could not save him and declared him dead.
As per rule, if a person died in any hospital the body is discharged only after they perform a post-mortem.
Interestingly, the family of Shadhan Das was unaware about the fact that post-mortem is required as a result they got in problem with the police personals. Archana Das, Bakul Das and Namita Das on Saturday quarrelled with the police personals.
Agitated relatives shouted over the police personals and asked that with whose permission they have conducted the post-mortem and snatched an important file from the police personals and took it to their home.
Getting alarm about the incident, SDPO Rajiv Sengupta and 2nd officer of Khowai police Station Palash Gupta reached to the hospital. By the time the women also came to the hospital and accepted their faults that they have snatched the file from the police which is a crime.
Accepting the file from the ladies SDPO Rajiv Sengupta said that it is an official crime to temper with any official documents. But as the family members were disturbed about the death of their family members, SDPO released them after strict warning without giving any punishment.
