AGARTALA/SONAMURA July 29 (TIWN): In a bid to provide temporary shelter to the farmers from the rain, 8 rain shelters are to be constructed at Indo-Bangla border gate area under Kathalia block. These shelters are constructed to provide temporary shed to the farmers to rescue them from the rain.
Shin deep in mud and rain water and getting a soaking from a monsoon deluge, it's hard to work under such heavy rain for the farmers. However, the shed houses will bring relief for the farmers to take temporary shelter from the rain under this shed house.
Monsoon brings along several problems. As the Indian farmers goes along the border side to cultivate, they always faces problems due to incessant rain and sometime scorching sun. However, this raid shed will provide a temporary shed to the farmers and can take rest in the shed for a while.
These sheds are to be constructed at Nirbhoypur, Salpukur, Dhanpur, Latila, kalikrishna nagar, nidiya and new nidiya area of Indo-Bangla border gate area under Kathalia block.
Sources confirmed that 1 lakh 86 thousand 92 rupees is spend for the construction of one rain shelter in these areas.
Apart from the rain shelter the administration has also taken the initiative to construct sanitary toilets for the use of the Border security forces.
However, an amount of 11 lakh 69thousand 60 rupees is sanctioned for the construction of the sanitary toilets in the areas.
