6,500 BPL families of West District to get electricity connection

AGARTALA, July 29 (TIWN): According to the latest status of implementation of rural electrification project, under Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DUGJY) this year a total of 6, 500 BPL families of West District will be provided with electricity connection, informed senior manager of Tripura State Electricity Corporation in a meeting at West Tripura District Council conference hall.

Senior Manager of Tripura State Electricity Corporation Ltd. Circle-1 at the meeting informed that the electricity connection will be expanded in 14 areas of Shurjyamani Nagar. Beside he also mentioned that very soon the expansion work of electricity connection will start in the 9 areas of Bordowali.

Besides, DGM of Circle-2 said that the work of allocation of electricity connection is in progress under L I Scheme at Chandra Shadu Area.

During the conference, the Executive Engineer of PWD Department of Mohanpur Division said that initiatives has been taken to do road metalling and Carpeting from Lembucherra to Indranagar tea garden, Shimna road to Sundartilla and from Abhicharan to Sadiram.

Besides, it has been informed that new roads will be constructed from Gandhigram to Rajnagar, Tulabagan to Lefunga and from industry market to Mochraipara.

Executive engineer of PWD of Jirania informed that at present the construction works of roads from Narayan Bari and to NIT road and from Bhodromission Para to Shankar Bazaar are in progress.  

Despite of several development initiatives taken by the state government, most of the roads are in deplorable condition. After several complaints made by the locals the department is turning blind towards the pathetic condition of roads.

Live example is of the road- Bordowali to Battala, the road is in poor condition for prolonged day though it has been repaired but after few days of gap in turn to its original shape.
