AGARTALA/ MOHONPUR, July 28 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, a 75-year old man died on the spot after he was dashed by a bike on Monday on the way to Meghlibondh.

The bike was bearing registration number TR-01-P-8075, after the incident occurred the bike lost its balance and skidded. When the rider saw huge number of people are assembling in the spot they managed to flee away from the spot.

The old man was identified as Lakhicharan Debbarma.

The bike riders namely Darlong Debbarma and Ajit Debbarma when hurriedly trying to flee away from the spot, suddenly the riders again lost balance and skidded on a tea garden near BSF camp of Katlamara. In the incident, Darlong Debbarma got seriously injured but the rider Ajit Debbarma leaving him in critical condition fled away from the spot.

Later, the BSF Jawan took him to the PHC of Katlamara where seeing the critical condition of Darlong the doctors immediately referred him to the GB Hospital.

Getting the information of the incident the Sundar Phari Police and OC of Shidai PS rushed to the spot.

After interrogating the family members of Darlong the name of Ajit Debbarma came into limelight and he is a resident of Murabari Area. The police also found huge quantity of drug tablets from the pocket of injured Darlong.

Besides, the family of the diseased have registered written complaint against the two bike riders. The police arrested the accused Darlong Debbarma and said that very soon they will also arrest accused Ajit Debbarma.
