AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): A serious allegation rose against Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Tripura SSA Unit General Manager J. Rabichandra for acting unruly towards the media persons on Monday at Agartala Akhaura Integrated Check Post. Rabichandra was found behaving wild with the media persons while they entered the ICP, with prior approval to cover the meeting being held over the international internet connectivity. The meeting was convened by the delegations from both India and Bangladesh. In view of the outcome of the important meeting the media persons on Monday morning rushed to the Akahura ICP, but some unruly behaviour of GM J. Rabichandra let the concerned BSF guards to restrict the media from going inside the meeting hall. The newsmen on Monday had got a prior approval from the Land Port Authority to cover the meeting being held at ICP, but despite that the unruly General Manager said, “There is no role of media here, you all may go from here.” However, this has triggered a huge resentment among the media on Monday. Later the concerned BSF acting on behest of Rabichandra restricted the newsmen and the photo journalists from entering the meeting hall at ICP.

Several allegations were raised earlier against Rabichandra for being unruly with the media persons here in Agartala. He was also found often being reluctant giving necessary and authorized information to media whereas the high officials of the BSNL NE-1 Circle and the SSA praised Tripura media persons for being positive to the BNL and their work status. The high official says that the success story of BSNL would not have got much priority without the media persons.

Interestingly, Rabichandra is also accused for being rude to his office staffs and workers at BSNL office, Kamanchowmuhni. A section of officers also alleged that Rabichandra often talks rude and behaves unruly to them which give a very filthy environment at the BSNL office.

Despite the high officials being polite and friendly to the newsmen towards the success story of the BSNL here, the Tripura SSA GMTD J. Rabichandra manages to curtain this and comes out rude to the newsmen.
