KAMALPUR, July 26 (TIWN): Recent success of Salema police station here at Kamalpur against fake currency in which police sized fake currency of 92, 000 rupees and arrested two youths revealed new dimensions of the dangerous spreading of fake currencies. And more alarmingly, fake currency became available in market, bank counters and ATMs. Even the border-adjacent town of Kamalpur had not been relieved from this menace.

The Secretary of Kamalpur Merchants Association and a businessman of repute Shyamal Dhar expressed to TIWN, “ Fake currency became widely prevalent in the markets here. Many people and businessmen cannot identify the fake notes well. But more seriously, although some businessmen can identify those they never play their role against this menace and remain numbed up.

It is really dangerous. All should strive forward it.” The same tune of joint struggle also heard from Congress leader and Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat Councilor Gaoutam Biswas. He told, “Fake currency notes are being spread to ruin our economy. It is an international conspiracy from the part of ISI and other anti-India forces.

As a result fake notes are now prevailing in the Banks, ATMs etc. In this context a joint struggle should be led in the interest of our Country from the part of political parties, administration and commoners.” In fact, the scenario even at Kamalpur and Dhalai district became so grave that, it became impossible for administration alone to combat the situation. Now would the so-called conscious people of golden state be awakened enough to combat it or not is the matter to be seen.
