AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN):The judicial department employees have reiterated their demand for implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations and bring pay parity with the Union Government employees. The Shetty Commission recommended pay structure as per sixth pay commission, even the Supreme Court in a judgment directed the implementation of commission recommendation. The judicial employee knocked the door High Court of Tripura for implementation of Supreme Court directive. On March 26 last, high court directed the concerned department employee to issue notification regarding sixth pay commission. But no notification was issued by the government. On this the employees tired to draw the attention of the concerned department on the issue. They gave a reminder to secretary, finance department on July 23 giving seven days time. If the finance sectary fails to issue notification, then they will appeal at high court citing defamation of Supreme Court order. On July 16, the apex court ordered that judicial employee should get pay structure of sixth pay commission from January 1, 2006. State government failed to implement the order, this caused serious resentment among one thousand employees in the lower court. They doubt what is the need for democratic elected government, if for justice one has to knock the door of court every time.

It is mentionable here that   there was a big difference between their salary and that of the Union Government employees, who are getting salary as per the Sixth Pay Commission recommendations. The difference between the two ranged between Rs. 5,000 and Rs. 60,000, he said.
