AGARTALA, July 25 (TIWN): Governor Tathagata Roy marked the inauguration of the fourth college graduation day of Holy cross college on Saturday at Rabindra Satabarshiki bhawan.
The Graduation day holds a place of pride in the hearts of all those who are associated with the college as it marks the completion of a significant milestone in the college success filled journey.
Addressing the gathering at the graduation day ceremony of the Holy cross students of Agartala expressed joy to the holy cross family. It should be tried that the values of life should be maintained. Speaking to the students he said that be proud of your state and work for the development of your state.
Underlining the need to maintain ethics of every profession is the need of the hour. Developments in technology have helped the educational sector immensely. Education is an instrument of empowerment and at the same time an instrument of social obligation, added Roy.
Tripura University Vice Chancellor Anjan Kumar Ghosh said the students to achieve excellence by hard work in life.
In the programme, Governor Tathagata Roy handed over citation and certificates to the 70 newly passing-out students of the college. All the successful candidates were the fourth batch of the college.
Speaking at the graduation day Principal of the college Dr. Father Emmanuel said that it has been an auspicious journey with the students in the college and the students are the vital part of this college and students are the future of this nation.
All together 70 students of BA, BSC, and BCOM were given certificates by Governor Tathagata Roy.
As a part of the program, a video of 7 minutes was displayed in the hall focusing on the journey of the Holy cross college followed by a cultural fest including dance and other cultural activities.
Holy Cross College, Agartala, has the distinction of being the first Catholic English Medium College in the state of Tripura, northeast India. It was founded in 2009 by the Congregation of Holy Cross and provisionally affiliated to Tripura University (a Central University). It began to function on July 8th 2009 with the starting of classes for BA and BCA, even though the official inauguration took place on August 10, 2009. Presently it offers undergraduate courses in BSc, BA, BBA, & BCA and the medium of instruction is English.
