TPYC demanded for Deputy High Commission Office

AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): Demanding to promote Agartala Bangladesh Visa Mission to Deputy High Commission Office in place of Assistant High Commission Office, Tripura Pradesh Youth Congress on Thursday placed deputation to Bangladesh Prime Minister Seikh Hasina Wazed via first Secretary of Bangladesh Visa Office.

According to the memorandum, India has two International road facilities with Pakistan and Bangladesh, one is Wagha border at Amritsar and the other is at Agartala-Akhaura. Bus service from Kolkata to Agartala via Dhaka had been launched by the PM of both the countries in June 2015.

They also mentioned that an International Standard Land Port had been started at Agartala near Akhaura check post to make every success as to International Export and Import Trade between Bangladesh and India where over 400 crores had been levelled between two countries in the financial year 2013-14 and further it is expected to reach the target of 800 crores in the financial year 2015-16.

However, it is expected that by 2016 as per Indo-Bangla agreement railway connection to be launched and a broadgage track is under construction. Further, it is mentioned that Tripura is also pleased to supply over 500 megha watt electricity from Palatana Project to Bangladesh.

Noticing all the issue, they demanded that the Agartala Bangladesh Visa Mission should be promoted to Deputy High Commission Office in place of Assistant High Commission Office.
